Old man Jack had to retire because he didn’t like running off power anymore. We shared a lot of good times, Jack. Good luck, buddy.
Meet the new franchise: Vivica.
Holy hell. 12 hours later and my lower back is killing me. printing size tags in 400 t-shirts will do that to you, I guess. All in all though it went well.
I know that this isn’t long but hey… 6 months later and you have yourself an update with actual product pictures.
On tap for this week: bottom seam prints. It’ll make sense later. Promise.
Fletch and Fletch Lives. If ever I am in a bad mood, these movies ALWAYS bring me out of it. I don’t really like Chevy Chase all that much but Fletch?! SOLD!
Whew. Finally back. I now have every piece to the equation that is printing t-shirts on your own. I could have just taken my designs to a local screen printer to print up but I wanted these things to be loved into existence.
Every t-shirt design I create has a unique story behind it. Basically, they’re inspired. Not in some hokey-”so I was walking down the street and saw a kid chasing a dog with a balloon”-sort of way, but as an event that took place in my life that I thought was meaningful and maybe someone else would feel the same. It’s that connection that I’m looking for and always trying to create.
SUPER TRUTH! (This is a drawing by Natalie Dee.)
Hey, guys. You might have noticed some changes to the website, namely www.dropoutsociety.com forwards itself to www.self-madeclothing.com.
I hope that you like the new name. I changed it based on lots of feedback and feel that it’s more representative of the group of people I’m trying to reach. Gotta listen to the fans.
Non-boring post on Thursday. Also, Terry Richardson is awesome.

Well… I finally have come to peace with what this label will be called. Dropout Society was never right, it was always a working title. I’ve been wrestling over what to call it while still keeping the aesthetic of all the designs. I think that it correctly describes both the line and the wearer.
I’ll post the new site address on Tuesday.
Hey folks, I’m changing the posting schedule to Tuesdays and Thurdays. Things are really starting to ramp up as I approach my live store date. You’ve probably noticed that it’s just a template for now. That’s because I don’t have all the pieces that I need to run at full steam yet. Yeah, I can make a couple shirts but if any pressure was exerted on me at this stage the whole thing would crumple up on me. I won’t let that happen. Everything has to be perfect before the store launches.
There are no second chances.
It really is all about the little things, the little thoughts that go into everything about a line that make it special. If something doesn’t have a little bit of personality, what’s the point of owning it?
Here’s a quick preview of the tag that’s printed on the inside of our t-shirts. We screen print our tags because no one likes itchy fabric tags that go all bendy when you wash them.
There’s also something else printed on the inside special for you. Little surprises, always. Here’s a sneak peek:
